Jiji’s attempt to vouch for Okarun is tested by the Kito men, and the social friction escalates into physical consequences: Okarun and Jiji are beaten, making the haunting’s webs more immediate and violent.

Momo’s shrine visit offers exposition about the tsuchinoko legend—sheds skins, human sacrifices, and volcano rituals—turning local superstition into a narrative engine. The shrine’s priest and the displayed shed skin complicate what counts as creature evidence versus ritual relic, blurring the line between myth and human violence.

By the end of the chapter, the cursed house plot and community antagonism converge: physical harm, threatened custody of the home, and the weight of cultural ritual press the heroes to act. The dandadan manga uses these convergences to escalate from investigation to direct, dangerous confrontation.
